What Your Eyes Are Missing
Your eyes rely on contrast to recognize terrain, texture, and motion. But in many real-world conditions, similar colors blur together and hide the details that matter: the surface change on the trail, the depth of the water ahead, the rise in the road.
SpectraBoost separates those color gradients. Terrain reads with more definition. Surfaces are easier to interpret. Less work for your eyes, more information in front of you — not artificial enhancement, more of what's actually there. That's what enhanced color sunglasses should do.
Where Science And Art Meet
A Direct Injection Of Color
Our uniquely formulated color boosting technology is built directly into the optical polycarbonate lens, so performance is consistent across the entire lens surface. No hot spots, no drop-off at the edges. Clearer terrain definition, better surface recognition, and more natural color perception from edge to edge.
Two Ways To Experience SpectraBoost
Different conditions call for different lenses. That's why SpectraBoost comes in two versions and a variety of colors.

SpectraBoost Non-polarized
For fast-moving terrain where depth perception and reaction time matter. Non-polarized by design, SpectraBoost enhances contrast without affecting the natural depth cues your eyes rely on at speed. The MirrorShield™ coating works to keep color from becoming oversaturated and higher VLT helps reveal the details.
Great for: golf, mountain biking, trail running, hiking, skiing, and snowboarding.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is SpectraBoost?
SpectraBoost is Revant Optics' color enhancing lens technology. It works by filtering the overlapping wavelengths your eyes naturally struggle to separate — so contrast sharpens, natural vibrancy comes forward, and terrain reads with more definition. It comes in two versions: SpectraBoost Polarized for high-glare environments like driving and fishing, and SpectraBoost non-polarized for fast-reaction sports like skiing and mountain biking where depth perception has to stay intact. Unlike color enhancing technologies from Oakley, Smith, or Costa that only work within their own frame systems, SpectraBoost is available as a replacement lens for hundreds of brands and thousands of styles. Keep your frames. Upgrade what you see.
What's the difference between SpectraBoost and SpectraBoost Polarized?
Both lenses use the same color boosting technology to sharpen terrain definition and bring natural vibrancy forward. The difference is how they handle light. SpectraBoost Polarized adds polarization to cut glare from reflective surfaces like windshields, water, and snow; it's the stronger choice for driving, fishing, mountaineering, and long days in high-glare conditions. SpectraBoost non-polarized by design preserves the depth cues your eyes rely on to judge distance and react quickly. In activities like skiing, mountain biking, and trail running, those cues are critical. Higher VLT means it also performs well in lower-light conditions. Glare is the problem? Go polarized. Terrain detail and depth perception matter most? Go non-polarized.
Is SpectraBoost the same as Oakley Prizm?
Prizm is Oakley's color-enhancing lens technology, and both work on the same principle: filtering specific wavelengths to sharpen contrast and improve visual clarity. The difference isn't the technology — it's how you get there. Prizm lenses come built into Oakley frames, priced as a complete Oakley product. SpectraBoost is available as a replacement lens for the frames you already own — Oakley included. Same performance category, without starting over.
Will SpectraBoost lenses fit my frames?
SpectraBoost is available as color enhancing replacement lenses for hundreds of the most popular sunglass frames from dozens of brands like Oakley, Costa, Ray-Ban, Maui Jim, Smith, and more. Use our lens finder to search your frames and confirm the fit.
Are SpectraBoost lenses good for driving?
SpectraBoost Polarized is a strong choice for driving. Color boosting sharpens road markings and surface detail. Polarization cuts glare off pavement, wet roads, and other vehicles. If reflected glare is a consistent issue on your commute or on road trips, the polarized version is the right call.
Is SpectraBoost available for Ray-Ban, Smith, Costa, Maui Jim, or other non-Oakley frames?
Yes. SpectraBoost is available as a replacement lens for hundreds of frames across dozens of brands — including Ray-Ban, Maui Jim, Costa, Smith, Wiley X, Leupold, and more. Color enhancing lens technology has traditionally been tied to specific brands and frame systems. SpectraBoost changes that. Use our lens finder to see if your frames are compatible.
